Piazza D’armi: Plan B parking in La Spezia
I’ve been contacted by numerous guests that were unable to book a parking space at my first choice parking in La Spezia (Park Centro Stazione, beneath La Spezia Centrale) as the parking lot was full when they arrived.
Keep in mind that only a limited number of parking spaces are available on a first come, first served basis. Oftentimes people will decide to queue up if the lots are full, waiting on a car to exit and free up a space.
If you were unable to find a parking space at the first attempt and you’re concerned that you never find a spot both the -1 (accessed on via Paleocapa) and -2 (accessed on via Fiume) levels of the parking garage beneath La Spezia Centrale full, here’s a Plan B option for you.”
This brand new open-air parking area is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from La Spezia Centrale train station and offers ample space for vehicles, even during busier times.
While it is not as close to the train station as the Park Centro Stazione, Piazza D’Armi is a convenient alternative with less likelihood of queues. Once parked, you can easily reach La Spezia Centrale by a short taxi ride, local bus, or a pleasant walk. Alternatively, you can rent a bike or electric scooter near the parking lot, which will allow you to reach the train station in less than 5 minutes.
Keep in mind that the Piazza D’Armi parking lot also operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s a good idea to have this option in mind if you encounter difficulties parking during the high season.
